Full Moon in Scorpio

While many are referring to this moon as the "Flower Moon" to signify the flowers that bloom during this Spring month, it is also known as the "Buddha Moon" because it is said to be the moon under which the Buddha became enlightened.

True to the Scorpio energy of this moon, the first words that the Buddha spoke upon coming out of meditation were, "All of life is suffering." He promptly followed this by saying, "And, there is another way." These two sentiments are the crux of this Full Moon. The energy of Scorpio is the energy of what is hidden, of secrecy, of difficult desires, and of inexplicable shame. It is also, however, the energy of lasting transformation, of power, of meaning beyond what is seen, of eventual rebirth, and of deep deep healing.

Too often we think that the healing we are looking for will come from pushing away those things that we don't like about ourselves, but this just makes the false need to keep secrets from ourselves and others seem even more real. These secrets don't disappear. In fact, they grow until we are forced to confront them through a situation or feeling that is far more harsh and disturbing than necessary simply because we allowed ourselves to believe that ignoring this secret, or dealing with it later, would somehow allow it to work itself out, or make it disappear. The result of this secret keeping is a deep sense of inauthenticity, which through the energy of Scorpio crystallizes as shame.

Almost everyone has the feeling, whether strong or weak, that if the people they love found out the things they've kept secret, they would no longer receive the same love. We forget that vulnerability is what creates deep connection, and sharing all that you are is what creates love. The healing potential of Scorpio is only possible when we allow those parts of ourselves that we feel shameful about to be loved and held as much as we love and hold those parts of us in which we have pride.
Secrets create suffering. Believing that something needs to be kept secret creates shame and mistrust, and I can think of few feelings that are worse.

"And, there is another way."

Let this Full Moon illuminate every corner of your life, your psyche and your heart. Take the courageous step of allowing everything to be seen by you and everyone around you. Allow yourself to feel the very real power of Truth by being the one to show it, to speak it and to live it. Truth embodied as you.

Step out of the shadows of secrecy, and you will release the weight of anxiety and shame.

loving you always
