Join Susannah Freedman and world renowned faculty (Sanskrit Scholar Nicolai Bachman, functional anatomy expert Laura Burkhart, and the creator of "Honor Don't Appropriate Yoga" Susanna Barkataki) for a Yoga Alliance certified three week life-changing, life-affirming immersion into the heart of Yoga and what it means to share this practice.
After practicing and training with teachers from around the world for 17 years, 10 years of teaching experience, and working as a Spiritual Coach, Susannah is uniquely qualified to lead students on this journey of Self-discovery.

Your Teachers
Susannah Freedman
Susannah teaches a rigorous style of Bhakti Vinyasa yoga. She is known for leading beautiful chants, fluid sequencing, her quick wit and humor, and for her ability to weave Yoga Philosophy into class in a way that is both profound and accessible. She helps people find refuge inside their own bodies and believes that as a global community we need to find a way to understand the concept that, as her teacher Stephanie Snyder says, we are different but not separate. In 2010 Susannah completed her first yoga teacher training and in 2014 she received her Masters in Philosophy and Religion. Susannah currently leads yoga retreats, workshops and trainings around the world and she teaches private, public, and corporate classes all over the San Francisco Bay Area.
Nicolai Bachman
Nicolai has been teaching Sanskrit, chanting, yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, and other related topics since 1994. He has a knack for synthesizing and organizing complex topics into simple and understandable presentations. His education combines informal, traditional study with the academic rigor of university classes. Nicolai studied extensively at the American Sanskrit Institute, the Ayurvedic Institute, the American Institute of Vedic Studies and the Vedic Chant Center. He holds an M.A. in Eastern Philosophy, an M.S. in Nutrition, and is eRYT500 certified. His ongoing studies continue to broaden his repertoire and inform all future classes. Nicolai has authored several Sanskrit book/CD learning tools including 108 Sanskrit Flash Cards, The Language of Yoga (Sounds True 2005), The Language of Ayurveda, and The Yoga Sutras: An Essential Guide to the Heart of Yoga Philosophy (Sounds True 2010). He also wrote an easy-to-read paperback on yoga philosophy called Path of the Yoga Sutras (Sounds True 2011).
Susanna Barkataki
Susanna is a teacher, coach, inclusivity promoter and yoga culture advocate. She helps yoga teachers, studios, nonprofits and businesses become leaders in equity, diversity and yogic values so they can embody thriving yoga leadership with integrity and confidence. Susanna loves to learn as much as she love to coach and teach. She has an E-RYT 500 hour Master Teacher certification, a 500-Hour Certified Ayurvedic practitioner and is a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist. She consults around the world for individual teachers to local studios to Yoga Alliance and Yoga Girl. She loves to assist people in bringing their yoga offerings successfully in line with their values. She runs a Yoga Leadership and Safe Space Mastermind, that offers teaching and coaching in small groups so yoga teachers, studios, classes, and programs are well prepared to be inclusive, accessible and welcoming while honoring the roots of yoga.
Laura Burkhart
Laura is an E-RYT 500 International teacher and featured online yoga teacher for Om Stars, Grokker, Yoga Vibes and My Yoga Works. She is a two-time cover model for Yoga Journal Italy and Singapore, May 2019 Cover model for Om Yoga and Lifestyle Magazine, and is regular contributor for Yoga Journal USA and Om Yoga and Lifestyle Magazine. In addition to her extensive work with Yoga Journal and Om Yoga and Lifestyle Magazine, Laura has been featured in Mantra Magazine, Origin Magazine and has written for online publications such as Greatist, Refinery 29 and SELF Magazine. She has taught at The Yoga Journal Conference, Mammoth Yoga Festival, The Bali Spirit Festival, Yoga Festival Milan, Wanderlust 108, Yoga For Hope and Yoga Rocks the Park and worked as the Yoga Director at the San Francisco Bay Club’s Mind/Body Center.
