Full Moon in Capricorn

Welcome to the end of Eclipse Season.

This Sunday, July 5, we will experience a Full Moon in Capricorn along with the final Lunar Eclipse of the season as well as the end of the two year Capricorn-Cancer eclipse cycle. As Capricorn rules the 10th house and therefore is related to work and social/professional status, Cancer rules the 4th house and is related to domesticity and home. Because this dance of eclipses in these two signs has been going on since 2018, this Sunday is a good time to reflect on how you have created or disrupted balance between these two areas of your life. Has professional desire for achievement overshadowed the work needed to create a healthy home and healthy intimate relationships? Or, were you so stuck in the quicksand of emotion that you lost your work ethic and drive? What have you let go of over the last two years, and what still needs to be released from both areas of your life? What recurring emotional patterns do you see that you want to take responsibility for and change? How do you let your work life affect your home life and vice versa? And a question that we must all continually ask ourselves: where has my professional tenacity, or emotional overwhelm, and my defensiveness about them gotten in the way of my ability to see the suffering of others?

Both of these signs have immense staying power, which can be both a strength and a hindrance. Cancer can clamp on to an emotion or relationship long past its expiration date, and Capricorn can get so fixated on professional recognition that it will find itself holding on to a position that it doesn't even want anymore. The doorway out of any negative patterns in these areas of your life is wide open, but no one can force you to walk through. This Sunday's Full Moon is also the day of Gurupurnima - a day in the Hindu tradition in which the Guru (one who removes darkness) is celebrated for their selfless service (Karma Yoga) in shining light on ultimate Truth. Ram Dass repeatedly said that "the moment is the guru."However painful the last two years may have been, what have they taught you, what have they illuminated for you, and can you celebrate all the ups and downs as if they were your greatest teachers? It's time to let go of the life you've been clinging on to so that you can find peace in the life that is more authentically yours.

loving you always,
xo Susannah
