New Moon in Libra
Tonight is a Super New Moon in Libra. This is the second of three supermoons, the last of which is December 14, and this is the closest Super New Moon we will experience in 2020, which makes it a very powerful time to set intentions of what we would like to cultivate over the next 30 days and into the new year. As this new moon is in Libra, it is all about cultivating *true* balance and harmony, which requires acknowledging that sometimes disruption is necessary when imbalance is so profound.
There are so many incredible and beautiful qualities that come to the forefront with Libra in the lead - the ability to compromise gracefully, create situations that are truly fair, aesthetic beauty, amiability and a deep desire for harmony. What can be difficult when Libra is playing a large role is the inability to speak or act on truth for fear that doing this will disrupt what it perceives to be balance and ease. While it isn't helpful to create disruption simply for the sake of being disruptive, it is sometimes very necessary to rock the boat if that boat is full of water and rocking it side to side is the only way to get it out.
While some may see the social unrest that continues as a disruption of harmony, it is imperative that we ask ourselves whether this is a true harmony or a superficial harmony. Can there really be harmony when the desires and needs of one group are fulfilled and catered to, while there is another group whose needs are systematically unsatisfied? Can you really call it "balance" when one person's goals consistently take priority over the goals of the other?
With Libra in play, one can either be under the mindset of "is this fair for me," or one can tap into the more connected and connecting question of "is this fair for us?"
Tonight on this new moon, we have to take meticulous stock of where we need to let go of what we want in the name of a more graceful compromise that will benefit the whole, and we need to be brutally honest about what in our lives (if anything) must go through a period of disruption, and the instability that follows, in order to inhabit the true and deep stability that can occur only when equity is present.
