Full Moon in Aries

Today's full moon in Aries brings with it the themes of acting only for oneself versus acting for the whole, assertion versus aggression, and the power of asking versus simply taking.

The Western Zodiac is often described as an evolution through the stages of life with Aries being the first and Pisces being the last. As such, Aries contains many of the traits of youth: excitement, high energy, enthusiasm, impatience, selfishness and short-sightedness.  The full moon is also in close proximity to Chiron (the wounded healer), and is in difficult relationship to the heavy-hitter planets Saturn (responsibility and restriction), Pluto (transformation and secrecy), and Jupiter (abundance and over-indulgence).

The energy of the rest of today and tomorrow is pointing us to pinpoint the areas in our lives where we tend to act childish, and to take that a step farther by looking deep into our unconscious to find out which of our childhood wounds is being triggered that causes the immature behavior. Saturn asks us to take responsibility for how we conduct ourselves in the world so that our actions serve the highest good of the whole rather than the irrational and self-serving inner child.

Today is a day to take stock of the quality of how we stand our ground and go after what we want, as well as how large of a sense we have about who we are as individuals.

Do you act as if who you are is wholly independent from anyone or anything else, or do you take action from the understanding that who you are is inextricably linked to everything and everyone around you?

We have an opportunity right now to transform the collective consciousness towards more righteous action, but in order for that to happen, we must root out in our own consciousness where we allow our immaturity to govern us rather than our grace.
