New Moon in Pisces
How seriously are you taking your dreams?
Very early on the morning of March 9 (late evening of the 8th for those in Hawaii and Alaska), we are in the darkness of a New Moon in the dreamiest sign of the zodiac — Pisces.
The cloudy and mysterious energy of dreams is present during Pisces Season as it is a sign that is associated with the ocean — vast, mysterious, and full of potential.
Luckily, the symbol for Pisces as well as Saturn’s current position in this sign give us clues as to how to harness that potential even in waters that feel overwhelmingly murky.
The symbol for Pisces is two fish swimming in opposite directions showing the tendencies for this sign to try going in many ways at once, as well as symbolizing both material and spiritual realities. These fish are also, however always connected by a cord, which represents the Piscean duty to integrate both the etherial and material worlds into daily existence. Often times this is done through fine arts, poetry, music and dance, but whether you consider yourself to be an “artist” or not, the task for all of us under a Pisces new moon is to really put effort into making what currently exists only in the ethereal realm a living reality of the material world.
We forget that every book we read, every gadget we use, every street we walk on and building we live in used to only be a dream in the mind of someone audacious enough to try to make it a reality. We also forget that the fulfillment of one specific dream is not more important than the realization of any other regardless of how big or small.
Each of us is a fulfillment of God’s dream, and each of our dreams is in essence God’s dream too. God does not have throw away dreams and neither do you.
The question then is, how do I try to make my dreams a reality? This is where the relationship you have between your material self and your immaterial self comes into play.
If you are operating only from what you wish were true, you won’t have the actual materials necessary to create your vision. Painters need actual paints and brushes; writers need implements for writing; musicians need a vehicle through which the internal sounds can come out.
If you are operating only from the material realm there will be no image to put into color, no words to lay on the page, no notes to be sent into the air.
Generally we fall towards one of these realms more than the other, and often times the area that is more foreign to us feels so alien that we don’t know where to begin.
If you tend to exist mostly in the immaterial realms, the first thing to do is to figure out one material thing necessary to start on your vision. This could be a canvas, a computer, or even the help of someone with the right experience.
If you find that you are so caught up in the physical world that you can’t access what cannot be seen tasted or touched, find a way to connect with your heart and ask yourself, “What must I make a reality before it’s too late?” Ask until you have an answer, and don’t question what you hear.
With Saturn in Pisces, we are also reminded how diligent and hard-working we must be in order to make our dreams a reality. Saturn tells us that building something of value often takes much longer than we anticipate or would like. And, as it is the planet associated with karmic endings, it tasks us with letting go of the things, spaces and people that distract us and stand in the way of our dreams.
Whether your dream is to have a family, start a revolution, write a book or paint the next Sistine Chapel, it starts with one step of unification between what is possible and what is already present.
This new moon is a wonderful time to manifest what you have been longing to create and see.
